NEW Bernina B990, My Favorite New Embroidery Functions and Features So Far
I've been working on the new Bernina b990 for a couple of days now playing around with the embroidery and there are many new features that I love. Here are some that I have found quite nice. Some brand new some are just redesigned old features. These are not the only new features clearly but a few.

    Hey. I recently started to use twin needles on my 880 plus. I love it but I want to have more space between my stitching rose. I used a 4.0 and it kept snagging My fabric. I used a 2.0 and it worked beautifully but I want more spacing between my lines. What should I do?

    Thank you for the excellent tutorial! One thing I do is before cutting the buttonhole open I run a layer of fraycheck over the buttonhole…allow it to dry….then slice through with seam ripper. No loose threads and stiffer buttonhole.

    Love the unboxing!!! The only thing I wish Bernina had done is to make the packaging a bit more eco-friendly and use either cloth bags or soluble cornstarch-based 'plastic' to wrap the machine in instead of petroleum-based plastic. Minor criticism on an otherwise fantastic machine. I've been binging on all these unboxing videos and am hoping to get in line for one myself!! Well done, sir, as I watch your channel from across the pond.

    Hi Cody from Australia. Oh I love the new interface of the machine with the wording and ease of use. I love my 790+ which I upgraded from firstly- 780 at a cost! Originally didn’t like the look of this machine… but it has great advantages for embroidery for sure. Just the upgrade cost would kill me. Question please. Do the old hoops like the clamp Hoop and the Maxi hoop I have bought; fit this new machine? And do all the feet I have fit also?

    • @fpassh2o

    Great video Cody! My machine should be to me by eow!!!! This was great for people like me. I'm the kind of person that doesn't want to learn my machine by reading the manual starting from page 1, exercise 1 - I like to see how intuitive it is. Add to that - I know what I want to do so how about just getting straight to that. Threading the needle is not something I want to spend time on.

    • @sewingwithcodyandpete8651

      The one I am using is over kill because it has many other types of ports. It’s one we use for our laptops because we need a HDMI port. But I am sure just a regular usb hub that had multiple just use ports will work perfectly.

    Hi, I think that was hard to watch, love you normally. The angle of the screen was the problem, seeing it still had its protective cover on, plus the screen glare did not help. The lighting was very bright, it was too much. I think it all got a little confusing, comparing the other machines against the B990 features. Think it was a little rushed. Look forward to your next video.

    This is a nice video about this machine. But I have a question- Why you try to get to the 4th floor without reaching the stairs or elevator first? Why you don't start the video by indicating the BASIC Differences that exist between this machine and the B 830/880 machines, specially in the Threading and Bobbin Loading departments, and the different hoops, old and new, that can be used by the machine? That is more important for me, an owner of a B830 for several years, at this moment, than the advanced features. Those things are something that could help me to decide to upgrade to this machine, or to get the PFAFF ICON 2 or maybe the Brother XP-3 or Baby Lock Solaris instead. But thanks for your video anyways.......

    Hi Cody. I'm considering a 435QE. Just saw the 'hover' video. Can you knee-lift the presser foot up while leaving the needle down, and manually 'hover' that way when quilting? Love your videos - SO helpful & informative. Thanks heaps Katie

  • @acom1c
    @acom1c 21 день тому

    Thank you Cody, I learnt a lot about my B79 in the last 15 minutes watching this and your video about setting up the free motion sewing. I work in a confined area and the sewing table and the knee lifter constantly fight, so your programming instructions will help me a lot. Would you be able to do a video on automatic darning for this machine, as there is nothing out there that I can find. My little rescue pup has only just learnt that she should not chew my bedspread - she went right through a bedspread and a blanket! ;) I am still very much at the newbie stage with this machine.
